KANSAS CITY, MO - (Jan. 30, 2008) - Pullman Power - a leader in design, construction, repair and maintenance of chimneys and stacks - has been selected to design and build several new chimneys for power plant projects around the United States.
Construction will begin in March 2009 on the Salt River Project as part of the Coronado Emission Control Project in St. Johns, Ariz. Two new 500-foot tall chimneys with 24-foot, 6-inch fiberglass reinforced plastic liners will be constructed at the existing plant where Pullman Power constructed the current chimney approximately 28 years ago. The chimneys are part of a wet Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) upgrade scheduled to be completed in April 2011.
For Minnkota Power, Pullman Power will construct a 550-foot tall chimney with a 30-foot, 9-inch fiberglass reinforced plastic liner for Unit #2 at the Milton Young Station in Center, N.D. Located at an existing plant, this project is part of a wet FGD upgrade and will replace a chimney constructed by Pullman Power approximately 25 years ago. Construction will begin on the project in May 2009 and will be complete in October 2010.
A new generation facility being developed by Peabody Coal in Lively Grove, Ill., will feature a 700-foot chimney with two 28-foot fiberglass reinforced plastic liners. Construction is scheduled to start in January 2009 and is slated for completion in October 2010.
A 400-foot tall chimney with a 18-foot, 6-inch carbon steel liner will be constructed for Southern Montana Electric G & T at the Highwood Station in Great Falls, Mont. Construction is expected to take approximately 11 months.
