STRUCTURAL Receives of Florida Trust for Historic Preservation Award

Sarasota, FL (June 15, 2011) – STRUCTURAL  – a Baltimore-based specialty-contracting firm that combines specialty construction and maintenance services with proprietary technology to solve engineering and construction challenges with a local office in Sarasota, Fl. has been honored as award recipient by the Florida Trust for Historic Preservation.

Each year the Florida Trust for Historic Preservation recognizes significant contributions of individuals, societies, businesses or government entities that have demonstrated outstanding achievement in the field of historic preservation through its Statewide Annual Preservation Awards Program. Recipients were honored during a ceremony on Friday, May 20, 2011 as part of the 33rd Annual Statewide Preservation Conference in Central Florida.

STRUCTURAL was recognized for its work on the Singing Tower at Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales. The successfully executed project was an initiative undertaken with the full support of the community. As noted by many, Bok Tower Gardens is a great source of pride for Polk County and the state of Florida and the Tower itself is an unforgettable structure. Because it houses what is recognized as one of the world’s preeminent carillons, proper structural maintenance was vital to ensure the standards and integrity of the original design.
