Cadman Towers, a 420-unit co-op residential complex in the heart of Brooklyn, offers affordable housing in a vibrant urban setting. The property features two reinforced concrete high-rise towers connected by a pedestrian bridge, with elevated plazas on the third level and parking facilities below.

The parking facilities experienced water infiltration, and the waterproofing systems on the plazas were compromised due to overburden and landscaping. STRUCTURAL was engaged to address these issues in two phases.

Phase one focused on the parking facilities, where concrete repairs were made, followed by the installation of 80,000 square feet of new waterproofing. A strict timeline was adhered to minimize financial impact and disruption to residents.

Phase two addressed the plazas, involving the removal of existing landscaping and the application of 45,000 square feet of waterproofing.

Given the complex environment—congested with vehicles and pedestrians and within an occupied building—safety and coordination were critical. STRUCTURAL successfully completed the repairs within budget and on schedule while effectively minimizing disruptions to the public.
